About The Position

CWI Works is recruiting for a part-time Training Support Specialist position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Edison, NJ. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Position(s) will support the lead-based paint abatement and renovation, repair, and painting (RRP) training provider accreditation programs. EPA's training provider programs play a direct link in reducing lead exposure. Training providers are responsible for training students seeking EPA certifications as dust sampling technicians, supervisors, project designers, inspectors, workers, and risk assessors. Region 2 oversees 50-60 training providers, over 164 individual courses, 7 disciplines, and up to 3 or more languages for both lead abatement and RRP combined. Duties include: Reviews Lead-Based Paint (LBP) training provider accreditation and re-accreditation applications for abatement and RRP. Responsible for providing necessarily follow up for approx. 60 training providers and over 164 courses. Conducts in-person site visits for pre-accreditation and course audits for accredited trainers. Maintains a training provider application status spreadsheet to ensure timely approvals in accordance with EPA's 180-day statutory requirements. Assists with LBP outreach. Provides technical assistance with phone and written inquiries as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS/GED
  • BA/BS - Business, Policy, Management, Info. Technology
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Teaching, Public Relations, Science, and Administration.
  • Customer service, problem solving, interpersonal skills, organizing, data analyzing, written and oral communication, critical thinking, group and individual projects, time management, data and meeting facilitation.
  • Valid driver's license, and ability to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Training background, review of science-based applications giving presentations in PPT, experience with MS Office Suite (Teams/Outlook)
