About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Training Specialist focused on Quality. This role involves conducting roving inspections, providing real-time coaching to less experienced personnel, and ensuring our quality standards are met. The successful candidate will foster a collaborative environment where continuous improvement is key, work in tandem between inspection and production to ensure our quality program is being utilized, and policies are upheld. The candidate will be expected to provide classroom training as well as floor training for all inspectors and other identified Acutec team members.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes, including first article, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective mentoring and coaching.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with quality inspection tools and software.
  • Effective personal presentation with the ability to deliver training and communication.
  • Solid skills in utilization of Microsoft Office products is required, including: PowerPoint, Publisher Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to quickly gain understanding of manufacturing / development objectives.
  • Influences decisions within area of responsibility.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with peers and other employees.
  • Can make short term changes to plans.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills and demonstrated success in managing/leading initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support less experienced members of the inspection team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Teach bench checks and alternative inspection techniques to reduce reliance on Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Document and report findings, offering actionable feedback for improvement.
  • Work with the training and quality assurance teams to provide constructive feedback on training programs.
  • Emphasize a non-punitive approach to quality assurance, focusing on learning and growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help develop best practices.
  • In accordance with the training team, implement proactive solutions and corrective action training.
  • Work with the Training Lead to create an inspection training outline highlighting areas of need based on department and complexity of work.
  • Properly document all training conducted – classroom, one-on-one, small group, etc.
  • Travel among our facilities - PA and SC - may be required.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Champions the continuing education of inspection skills by providing classroom instruction including but not limited to Blueprint, GD&T, CMM, and Gaging, at the machine coaching, and enhances learned-through-experience by providing feedback.
  • Works with production and quality management and training staff to develop job aids
  • Assess training needs and develop targeted learning plans for machinists, inspectors, and support staff
  • Maintain accurate training records
