About The Position

The Training Specialist provides essential and required training for new hires, and continuing development of existing employees in the Engineering Department. This position implements training and development programs in compliance with Norfolk Southern's strategic objectives. Solid communication skills (both written and verbal) are required as this position interfaces across all levels within our organization.

Requirements

• Minimum Level: 1-3 years of job-related experience.
• Preferred Level: Over 4 years of job-related experience.
• Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Engineering - Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word/Word Processing and MS PowerPoint/Presentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new Engineering Employee Training.
• Maintain records of training programs/participants.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to assist team members in the creation of effective training tools.
• Provide employee training and support to Norfolk Southern's Engineering Department.
• Occasionally assist in field support across the system.
