About The Position

The Training Specialist upholds FFC’s company training strategies, providing consistent and efficient instruction for new and existing colleagues. This role reviews implementation and assesses outcomes to ensure training programs are effectively preparing employees to meet FFC’s goals.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education or related field
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn and teach new technologies to diverse groups of people with varied learning styles.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet software, and Email software.
  • Ability to stay focused on different tasks, use your time and energy effectively and efficiently to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Organize resources, track all training provided and be able to relay information in a timely manner.
  • Able to prioritize and problem solve multiple training needs.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, apprenticeship programs, customer services, health and safety practices, refresher training, promotional development, upgrading, and retraining displaced workers under the supervision of the training assistant manager.
  • Learn and maintain efficiencies of all company software and their assigned department job roles.
  • Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Select and/or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works and revise design of training curriculum and methods to improve effectiveness as needed.
  • Select and/or develop testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training; implement and test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training and then provide reports and feedback on employee’s progress.
  • Create written training communications under supervision of training assistant manager.
  • Organize schedules for multiple colleagues and self.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately.
