About The Position

The Training & Safety Coordinator at ASSA ABLOY is responsible for coordinating training and safety activities for employees at the Carlstadt, NJ manufacturing facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with mandatory safety training, job-specific training, and HR-related training, as well as supporting new hire orientation and onboarding processes. The coordinator will also assist with various HR initiatives and maintain training records, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, or a similar field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Human Resources, Business, Safety, or a similar field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to analyze, prioritize, and plan work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with good follow-up skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and able to handle time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training and safety activities for employees.
  • Ensure completion of mandatory safety training and job-specific training.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain records for all employee training conducted.
  • Answer routine benefit inquiries and assist with benefits enrollment.
  • Coordinate timing and logistics for annual mandatory training requirements.
  • Maintain employee training files within the HR department.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for bargaining unit employees.
  • Support recruitment activities as assigned by the HR Manager.
  • Prepare and distribute HR and Safety-related presentations and flyers.
  • Conduct safety orientation and coordinate safety shoe distribution.
  • Maintain and update safety records, including training logs.
  • Assist in ordering and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Post job openings internally on location job boards.
  • Attend job fairs and/or open house recruitment events.
  • Provide backup coverage for the reception area when needed.
