About The Position

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs. Primary Focus: Technical Training

Requirements

  • Experience with NNS Technology supporting Engineering, Design, and Planning tools and processes
  • Experience with developing and publishing professional-level training content
  • Experience working with commercial vendors and customers (external to HII).
  • Ability to apply elements of Project Management as team lead and individual contributor
  • High degree of professional communications and customer service approach
  • Familiarity with training content development frameworks/processes.
  • Must HaveBachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using training content development software and templates (MS Office suite, Camtasia, Captivate)
  • Experience with information management platforms and version control
  • Project Management experience a plus
