Visit our website at nyc.gov/dcas to learn more about the work we do. DCAS Human Capital (HC) is responsible for maintaining the Civil Service system for the City of New York. HC recruits and identifies the best-qualified candidates for City employment, administers Civil Service exams for positions and provides City agencies with a qualified pool of candidates to fill their hiring needs in a manner consistent with the State Constitution, Civil Service Law and laws governing equal employment opportunity. In addition, HC develops and interprets Citywide policies and programs; develops and conducts professional development and employee training programs; and implements the City's provisional reduction/avoidance plan, among other critical functions. We are seeking a Training QA & Documentation Specialist to join the eLearning team within the Bureau of Workforce Operations. This role ensures that all online training content on NYCityLearn, the City’s learning management system, is accurate, accessible, and user-friendly. Through rigorous quality assurance, meticulous documentation, and structured release management, the Specialist will improve the learning experience for every City employee.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience appropriate to qualify for the specific assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Test eLearning courses across multiple browsers, devices, and LMS environments to confirm functionality and performance.
  • Review eLearning content for accuracy, usability, accessibility, media quality, and system compatibility to ensure compliance with standards and a seamless learner experience.
  • Document every step of the QA process, capturing bugs, usability issues, fixes, and release outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain standardized QA documentation, version control records, and release notes to ensure consistent course management.
  • Create and update NYCityLearn user documentation, including guides, FAQs, and job aids to support employees and agency training liaisons
  • Translate feedback into documentation by capturing learner insights through surveys, focus groups, and A/B testing.
  • Manage course releases to minimize disruption, ensuring that both internal and user-facing documentation is accurate and accessible.
  • Track and report on metrics (bugs per release, cycle times, learner impact) with clear documentation to guide improvements.
