About The Position

The OST Training and Communications team delivers role-specific learning experiences to more than 8,000 team members and leaders across Grainger’s Fulfillment Network, building the capabilities required for operational excellence and workforce readiness at scale. The Training Program Manager, Operations is part of the Operations Support Training and Communications Team, reporting to the Manager, Training Delivery. This role is responsible for owning the strategy, design, and execution of scalable training programs that build critical skills, close performance gaps, and support operational transformation across the network. This role serves as a key partner to operations leadership, aligning learning initiatives with business priorities and ensuring programs deliver measurable impact. Leveraging expertise in adult learning, facilitation, and program management, the Training Program Manager drives end-to-end program ownership, influences cross-functional stakeholders, and enables sustained performance improvement at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Adult Education, or related fields; or 2+ Years Or experience in related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience owning programs or large-scale initiatives
  • Can drive standardization and scalability of training solutions across multiple sites and teams.
  • Responds to training needs with empathy, patience, and adaptability, creating inclusive and effective learning environments.
  • Understanding of LMS systems, operational systems, and core technical and learning tools.
  • Lead program governance, including roadmap planning, stakeholder updates, and risk mitigation.
  • Proven ability to work independently while influencing and partnering across teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on stakeholder alignment and leadership engagement.
  • Ability to lift <25 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel within and outside the U.S.; up to 25%

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of training programs, from needs assessment through design, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Handle cross-functional projects related to training, performance improvement, and operational capability building.
  • Define and track success metrics (e.g., performance improvement, adoption, productivity gains) and use insights to refine programs.
  • Host and facilitate instructor-led and blended learning sessions that promote operational excellence, safety, and process consistency.
  • Tailor training content and delivery methods to meet the diverse learning styles, non-exempt and exempt roles, and experience levels of operational employees, ensuring relevance and engagement.
  • Partner with senior leaders to prioritize training initiatives aligned to business goals and network-wide needs.
  • Apply agile methodologies to training projects, iterating quickly based on feedback, adapting to shifting priorities, and ensuring training remains relevant and responsive to evolving operational needs.
  • Champion change initiatives by embedding change management strategies into training content and delivery to support adoption and readiness.
  • Reinforce learning through coaching and follow-up, ensuring knowledge transfer and sustained performance improvement in the field.
  • Support project deployments, ensuring consistent training execution and change enablement across locations.
  • Leverage LMS and operational systems (e.g., SAP) to manage training records, run reports, analyze, and report on training data to understand success rates and gaps.
