About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training Operations Manager to join our team at Cherry Point, NC. As a key member of the Lockheed Martin training organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of F‑35 pilots. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Lockheed Martin training team to achieve F‑35 training objectives, support military pilots' flight procedures, and maintain their qualification levels. You will also be responsible for implementing and supporting Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a fourth or fifth generation fighter pilot/instructor pilot and/or training instructor.
• Candidate must have active secret clearance and be able to qualify and hold a SAP clearance.
• Final clearance adjudication within the last five years.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and extensive professional experience in managing operations personnel supporting customer mission readiness at dedicated training and operational installations.
• Proven leader with management style aligned to LM core values and Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives.
• Experience in evaluating personnel's performance and in completing performance appraisals.
• In-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft training operations.
• Prior experience in delivering military pilot academics and simulator training and familiarity with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams and stakeholders from various backgrounds and disciplines.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
• Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.

Nice To Haves

• Current or demonstrated experience as a USAF/USN/USMC IP with multi-role fighter experience.
• Former Weapon School, Top Gun, or MAWTS graduate desired.
• Fifth generation Full Mission Simulator (FMS) experience as an operator and/or instructor.
• Minimum of 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation multi-role fighter aircraft.
• F-35 flight time.
• F-35 Instructor Pilot experience.
• Experience with F-35 pilot training curriculum.
• Familiarity with F-35 program requirements.
• F-35 system knowledge.
• F-35 Full Mission Simulator experience.
• Familiarity with the F-35 ALIS program.

Responsibilities

• Provide performance feedback to employees and discuss their career goals and development plans.
• Oversee the implementation of updates/upgrades and the close‑out of related documentation.
• Ensure the site operates within the required guidelines and has all necessary tools, documentation, and training to succeed.
• Work with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at Cherry Point to achieve F‑35 training and continuation‑training objectives.
• Implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of F‑35 aircraft systems, procedures, and tactics to provide expert instruction and guidance.
• Stay current with updates and changes to F‑35 training programs, procedures, and policies.
• Perform any other duties and related responsibilities as required.
• May require a flexible schedule to provide coverage for on‑site customer needs.
• Travel to support other sites within the CONUS and OCONUS regions may be required.
