Employee Development Managers and Training Officers analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, manage and coordinate training and development for a department, division or a geographic region of a department's statewide training function and supervise and/or conduct sessions for vocation and/or skills training in specific occupational areas and general management development. The Division of Human Resource Management is recruiting to fill a Training Officer 2 position within the Office of Employee Development in Las Vegas. The incumbent will provide the day-to-day oversight and program management for the State's primary leadership development program: the Certified Public Manager program (CPM). The incumbent will execute on established policies and procedures tied to the program participant (aka "student") deliverables, monitor program operations, prepare updates and evaluation reports, and teach assigned coursework. The incumbent may also develop new curriculum as assigned for both CPM and other programs and be responsible for class delivery of CPM and those offerings. Specifically, the incumbent will implement administrative policies and procedures and coordinate program operations - including the production and coordination of classroom materials and maintain program records and reports. The incumbent is also responsible for grading program homework and assignments, coordinating the activities of external instructors and project evaluators, providing routine communications with program participants, and will also work with the Employee Development Manager to coordinate program enrollment communications to ensure a sufficient pool of qualified applicants.
