About the position

Atlas Roofing Corporation is seeking a Training Manager for its Clinton, IA location. The role focuses on identifying training needs, developing and implementing training programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations while supporting employee development and integration into the company’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs to assist with plant startup and continue programs after plant is operational.
  • Develop and implement training programs that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Develop and edit Atlas training materials, including User Guides and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Write up standard operating procedures (SOPs) to explain tasks in more detail.
  • Ensure the SOPs are easy for new employees to understand.
  • Maintain training records for Atlas Roofing employees.
  • Interact with all Atlas Departments and Divisions to identify training opportunities.
  • Ensure the training program meets all regulations and the company's mission/goals.
  • Tailor training programs based on the employee's different learning styles, needs, and paces.
  • Organize learning and development events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Provide career development support to employees in progressing their careers.
  • Coordinate with HR and safety to manage the employee onboarding training process.
  • Help new hires integrate and understand how they can contribute to company goals.
  • Track training and development progress for each employee and keep the matrix up to date.
  • Track expenses, maintain current training grants, and continue to apply for other possible grants.
  • Assess effectiveness of training programs while establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) of the training program.
  • Manage training budget.
  • Build and maintain relationships while keeping open and clear communication throughout the plant.
  • Stay up to date with training technology.

Requirements

  • Training experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field from a 4-year college; or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) to personnel from a variety of functional areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of personnel.
  • Professional presentation and delivery skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with training software as needed.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Mini Tab, and People Soft.
