About The Position

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time Training Manager position in the Office of Georgia Quick Start. This position is located at the TCSG Georgia Quick Start Training Center in Athens, Georgia. *This is not a remote position* Under minimal supervision and working with general guidelines, the incumbent performs duties of considerable difficulty as a Training Manager. Responsibilities include management for project training activities, assisting to maintain staffing levels, and helping with day-to-day operations of the Quick Start Athens Training Center in Athens Georgia. Duties will include staff recruitment, project budget development and implementation, purchasing, reporting systems, and oversight of contractor activities. Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple training programs simultaneously. Domestic and international travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or a related field.
  • Five years of training and development experience.
  • Experience in budget preparation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of training, human resource management and project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and monitors project goals and objectives.
  • Manages and guides project activity, maintains training records and reports, and conducts research to acquire new resources and technologies for project studies and training in assigned industries.
  • Performs periodic audits of Quick Start project activities and works with training coordinators to ensure consistent methods and standards are maintained.
  • Reviews project training analyses, training plans, budget preparation, and performance-based training programs.
  • Coordinates and assists Director to maintain contractor and Training Coordinator staffing levels.
  • Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Quick Start Athens Training Center to include purchasing, reporting systems, staff guidance and direction, contract reporting, and facilities utilization.
  • Manages development and delivery of training as leader of a project team composed of Training Coordinators, Instructional Designers and Instructors.
  • Creates and implements processes and procedures to ensure the quality and effectiveness of instructional materials and instruction.
  • Provides decision making in the absence of the Director.
