As a Safety Training Instructor you will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical skills based training and the evaluation of student’s knowledge retention and application to their job role. You will work collaboratively to administer and continuously improve our internal apprenticeship program and work closely with other safety team members and internal stakeholders to coordinate and deliver a holistic training program for our employees.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required; degree or professional accreditation preferred.
  • 10+ years electric transmission and/or distribution construction experience required. Prior training experience must be present within this requirement.
  • OSHA Authorized Trainer, FA/CPR/AED, and/or other safety training certifications preferred
  • Ability to travel for overnight stays and experience arranging own travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, smart phone and tablet applications
  • Must have excellent computer and organizational skills
  • Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training and training evaluations through ample knowledge of electrical standards of practice
  • Evaluate the skill level and competency of new hires and existing linemen who are progressing through the apprenticeship program
  • Instruct and evaluate field employees on compliance related to company, customer and federal/state regulatory requirements
  • Verify that all employees receive proper instruction on safety and technical skills
  • Advance the safety culture of the workforce through engagement and demonstrations of the Core Values in practical application
  • Seek out opportunities to improve training content and delivery methods
  • Employ learning theory strategies to maximize training for all types of learners and skill levels
  • Develop and manage training/evaluation atmosphere conducive to proven adult learning and classroom management techniques
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
