About The Position

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Training Director to lead the strategic development and implementation of agency-wide professional training initiatives. In this role, you will shape the learning culture of KMHS by ensuring high‑quality, trauma‑informed education for clinical and non‑clinical staff. This position plays a key part in strengthening professional growth, maintaining compliance with clinical standards, and supporting evidence-based practice across the organization. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in training, supervision, or program development in behavioral health settings.
  • Experience in evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and adult learning principles.
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years related management/leadership experience in healthcare and managing comprehensive projects that affect patient and organizational outcomes.
  • Designing supervisory and leadership training curriculum
  • Creating employee evaluations via Survey Monkey and other similar web resources
  • Health care systems, analysis and evaluation techniques, statistical process control techniques (Patient Experience knowledge preferred)
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor License or other professional license (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT).

Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff, including onboarding, continuing education, and specialized topics
  • Ensure all trainings reflect current evidence-based practices and promote equity, inclusion, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain training records and monitor compliance with internal policies and external accreditation requirements.
  • Work with the People Experience (PE) department to assure all interns and candidates for licensure have the proper supervision and clinical oversight necessary for their program and/or credential.
  • Provide guidance and support to clinical supervisors, including training on supervision models and documentation standards.
  • Lead needs assessments to identify training gaps and opportunities across programs.
  • Collaborate with program managers, PE, and executive leadership to align training initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • Represent the agency in external training partnerships, academic collaborations, and professional networks.
  • Monitor training outcomes and staff development metrics to inform continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all training and supervision activities meet contractual, regulatory, and ethical standards.
