About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring and oversight of the quality of information captured and loaded into the hospital and clinic information systems during the pre-registration and registration processes. The position is responsible for the education and training of new and existing staff within the hospital and clinic Patient Access areas. This individual will provide ongoing feedback to Patient Access leadership and to staff on quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required within 3 years of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in customer service required.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective training skills.
  • Teaching or training experience desired.
  • Prior experience with accounts receivable preferred.
  • Prior experience in medical billing with familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid and insurance billing preferred.
  • Excellent communications, customer service and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the education materials and trains all new and established hospital and clinic Patient Access staff on pre-registration and registration functions, processes and software.
  • Analyzes quality and denial data to ensure coaching and training of new and current staff effectively addresses areas of need.
  • Collaborates with the entire revenue cycle team to ensure competent understanding of health plan and business requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate discussions with staff about the most beneficial use of the primary software applications used across the revenue cycle.
  • Facilitates conversations with patient experience staff when communication issues are identified to resolve issues to the benefit of the organization and its’ patients.
  • Engages with the clinic reception manager to coordinate the training and education for reception staff related to Patient Access policies, processes and technology at the main and satellite clinic locations.
  • Continuously communicate and coordinate with senior management to ensure organizational problems are resolved.
  • Complete projects as assigned by Patient Access Manager and/or Director of Revenue Cycle.
