About The Position

The position involves developing and providing educational and instructional information within the MICU Education department at Virtua Health. The role focuses on organizing and managing specific areas of responsibility, promoting skill competencies, and ensuring compliance with quality improvement standards through effective training and education initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in critical care or EMS related fields.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved paramedic training program or current EMT Instructor certification in the State of NJ.
  • Current New Jersey paramedic certification.
  • Current certification in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and CPR -OR- Current New Jersey EMT Instructor certification with at least three (3) consecutive years of experience as an active EMT-Instructor and qualified to serve as EMT Program Coordinator as defined in N.J.A.C. 8:40A-4.2(b).
  • Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and review skill competencies through education and training.
  • Ensure compliance standards and quality improvement is maintained through the training/educational process.
  • Evaluate staff, students, and the learning environment.
  • Document changes necessary to improve staff and current curriculum.
  • Work closely with others to provide internal and external quality learning environments for staff and students.
  • Develop learning objectives and create learning strategies to optimize the effectiveness of the learning environment for education initiatives.
  • Develop and design tools to facilitate learning through hands-on training.
  • Provide site-specific materials, policies, and student responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Assist in research, development, implementation, and teaching of new procedures and educational programs.
  • Plan, implement, and follow through on projects and programs as applied to training and education.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance review process as required by the department.
