About The Position

The Operations Training Assistant will organize and facilitate training activities at the site in support of DSV's overall training strategy. Serves as an ongoing assistant with educational and training resource to ensure all facility employees receive training needed to effectively complete their jobs. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, quality, and teamwork. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies and may be required to perform any combination of the following.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate stand-up Reach Truck while placing & removing pallets from elevated storage media.
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with RF Scanners and WMS functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years' experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 1-2 years proven forklift experience.
  • 1-2 years proven stand up reach lift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
  • Able to operate Electric Pallet Jack and Dock Loader (Pacer) when needed.
  • Previous experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Current or prior experience using WMS.
  • Current or prior experience using RF Scanner.
  • Working knowledge of field operations and/or training principles.
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audiences and ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple processes, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Observe and evaluate associates to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • At the completion of training, submit a completed training plan, indicating date and areas trained (i.e. picking, packing).
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required by leadership.
  • Provide refresher training at the request of leadership.
  • When not performing training, execute warehouse duties as assigned.
  • Ensure training sessions are properly prepared and executed with established materials, within established timelines.
  • Provide feedback and training progress to Supervisors and Managers based on individual trainee needs.
  • Document/track the training for associates.
