The Training & Support Coordinator - Cats at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is responsible for overseeing cat care from intake to adoption, ensuring successful placements through post-adoption support. This role involves leading and training volunteers in cat behavior programs, assisting the Animal Care Manager in training initiatives, and providing excellent service to clients and stakeholders.

  • Monitor cat care from intake to adoption and follow up post-adoption.
  • Lead cat behavior volunteers and train them in shelter cat training programs.
  • Assist the Animal Care Manager in providing training support and consultation to clients.
  • Execute post-adoption training support programs.
  • Create and implement training curriculum and materials for volunteers, staff, and the public.
  • Assist with canine classes offered by Peggy Adams as needed.
  • Act as liaison to foster care volunteers for cats with challenging behaviors.
  • Support the Humane Education department in cat behavior curriculums and programming.
  • Create in-home training and enrichment plans for foster care cats.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping for all client interactions.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of customer service experience required.
  • Minimum of one year working knowledge of cat behavior in a shelter environment.
  • Understanding of common behaviors in both cats and dogs required.
  • Ability to speak in public settings and teach classes required.
  • Excellent service skills via multiple communication methods required.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Working knowledge of virtual communication channels (Zoom, GoToMeeting, FaceTime, etc.) preferred.
  • Full-time position with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.
