Pima County Public Library is seeking a detail-oriented and people-centered Training and Education Coordinator I to join our administrative team. The individual will report directly to our Library Services Manager overseeing training, Trauma Informed Care, Vulnerable Populations, Library Restorative Practices for Youth, and Safety and Security. The primary function of this position will be to coordinate and manage the work of Service University across Pima County Public Library. Service University, or Service U, is a months-long training process for all newly hired employees that helps orient them to the complex work of public library service. It covers many topics and is taught by subject matter experts amongst library staff. The ideal candidate would also have a foundational understanding of trauma informed care principles and practices in public libraries, serving houseless individuals, and restorative practices work with youth. They should have a good grasp of some of the challenges faced by urban public library environments, including safety and security issues. The person selected for this role will assist with investigating potential training opportunities for library staff outside the realm of Service U that have the most relevance for Pima County Public Library workers. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are organized self-starters, who love continued learning and working with people, and have experience coordinating large-scale initiatives for big organizations. Experience in education, libraries, and/or training is desirable. This is a very exciting time of innovation and reinvigoration at the library. If this description sounds like you, we invite you to apply and potentially become a part of a very dynamic and engaged team. This position may be required to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
