The Training and Development Specialist at Northstar Aerospace is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the corporate-wide Learning Management System (LMS) and managing both technical and leadership training initiatives across the organization. This position is situated within the Human Resource Department and reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and SHEA. The specialist will collaborate with various operational teams to establish training measures, set goals, and monitor progress towards developing and implementing effective training programs. The ultimate aim is to cultivate a competent and safe workforce that is knowledgeable and qualified to meet the demands of the manufacturing environment. In this role, the Training and Development Specialist will develop an annual training plan that identifies specific training goals and gaps for each area within Northstar Aerospace. They will recommend, develop, schedule, and conduct both required and recommended training sessions, ensuring that all training activities are aligned with the company's operational needs. The specialist will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and maintaining employee training records to comply with various industry standards, including NADCAP, ISO, AS9100, and ITAR. Additionally, the specialist will lead the implementation of plant-wide process and technical training programs, including new hire orientations and enhancements to existing training initiatives. They will provide support to plant staff and operations management in evaluating job performance and training program effectiveness, as well as developing qualification tools and maintaining proper training documentation. The role also involves preparing an annual training budget and creating job aids to facilitate learning. The Training and Development Specialist will perform other related duties and special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the training and development function within the organization.
