This position is for a Trainer supporting the Optum Shared Services RCM business operations, to include Acute and Ambulatory, Acute and Ambulatory Patient Financial Services- PFS. The responsibilities of this position will be to deliver the training curriculum needed to support the business units serviced. The person will deliver process, procedure and systems training for multiple claim platforms and ancillary systems associated with Optum or its clients through the UHG cultural/values lens. May also deliver soft skills training. The candidate will work closely with the Operational Teams to identify training opportunities and implement strategies to conduct that training and make the staff more efficient This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or at weekends. This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be normal business hours, Monday - Friday. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3+ years in business management, training or other field of study that supports job role
  • 3+ years of experience delivering training in a business operation, corporate, or sales environment
  • Experience with Epic, particularly in back-end functionality and workflows
  • Understanding of revenue cycle processes in both acute and ambulatory care settings
  • Agility in adapting to adult learning styles and interactive delivery methods
  • Experience in training in classroom, webinar and blended learning environments
  • Ability to train a diverse range of audiences, including external vendors, Internal employees, leadership teams, entry-level staff
  • Proficient use of Virtual Training Platform (WebEx, Teams, Zoom,…)
  • Ability to Travel domestically up to 25%25 of the time
  • Ability to work position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management services
  • Experience utilizing adult learning principles to deliver training in a corporate environment
  • Hands-on experience using and/or training others on MDIV and MMIS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Training Delivery - facilitate training courses based on developed curriculum
  • Learner Performance Management - manage classroom performance and behavior in coordination with learner’s leader
  • Learner Support - Pre and Post Training support as required to support training prerequisites and on the job training/support follow-up post training
  • Training Content Contribution - contribute to curriculum development and process updates related to developed curriculum
  • Deliver training using multiple mediums – classroom, webinar, blended learning approaches
  • Training Delivery – 60-70%25
  • Conduct training for newly hired operational team members on core systems, processes, and applications
  • Provide training on culture and values aligned with Our United Culture
  • Deliver continuing education, up skill, and performance improvement training as necessary
  • Training Preparation, Development, and Follow Up – 20-30%25
  • Participate in the instructional design and development process as necessary for large scale curriculum design projects
  • Provide feedback to trainees and Operations Managers regarding class progress, areas of strength and areas of improvement
  • May enroll and grant credit in Learning Management System for courses administered
  • Maintain expertise as needed in functional areas supported
  • Plan, prepare and teach back new material prior to class start (side by sides, self-study, and live practice)
  • Conduct applicable log in labs
  • Provide on the job training/support follow-up post training
  • Other Duties as Assigned – 5-10%25
