SHIFT: .5 FTE (20 Hours per week) - Monday-Friday 11AM-3PM The Part-Time Trainer for the 988 National Suicide Prevent Contact Hub provides training and instruction to 988 Contact Hub staff in accordance with established program guidelines, workflows, and best practices. Trainings support the implementation of culturally, geographically, and linguistically appropriate services for crisis calls. This position focuses on facilitating onboarding and ongoing training to support staff competency in crisis services provided through the 988 and the Regional Crisis Line (RCL). The 988 Contact Hub Trainer may assist with the development or updating of training materials as needed but primarily supports the implementation and delivery of training developed by the 988 Contact Hub training program. The Trainer works with program leadership and the Sr. 988 Contact Hub Trainer to ensure training is delivered consistently and supports effective service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences.
  • One year of experience in a call center environment.
  • Must apply for a Counselor Agency Affiliated – Registered credential from the Washington State Department of Health within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a 988 Contact Hub or crisis call center.
  • One year of experience in crisis work including working with suicidal and other people in acute distress
  • Experience developing and implementing training, academic courses, seminars, or workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of newly assigned trainings and provide established training content utilizing classroom, virtual, practice labs, group interactive exercises, and e-learning modalities.
  • Remain up to date with mandatory training requirements for the 988 Contact Hub and Regional Crisis Line, make recommendations and updates to materials as appropriate.
  • Provide orientation and training for 988 Contact Hub Crisis Triage Specialists, and handle logistics for internal training activities including the development of training aids such as manuals, handouts, when requested.
  • In conjunction with feedback from department leadership, develop and provide ongoing training on specific cases
  • Collaborate with Sr. 988 Contact Hub Trainer to provide education, coaching and feedback via live monitoring through NICE CX.
  • Collaborate with Sr. 988 Contact Hub Trainer to review client records and provide coaching and feedback on any identified corrections needed and/or areas of improvement.
  • Assist in developing tools and processes to ensure staff maintain compliance with current workflows, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Collaborate with 988 Contact Hub Lead Crisis Triage Specialists to assist in learning and locating necessary community resources.
  • Document and track training received by individual employees, as appropriate.
  • Train staff to ensure development of knowledge needed to support implementation of service goals and objectives.
  • Provide consultation and education to other FBH staff and to the community when assigned.
  • Answer Crisis Call Center calls when directed, and as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all FBH staff.
  • Ensure equal opportunity for all assigned staff with regards to training.
  • Participate in DOH training topic related meetings, as assigned.
  • Contribute to and participate in departmental projects for reaccreditation, applications, or RFPs for program training and development, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
