Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of planes and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail.

Responsibilities

  • Welds metal components together using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts.
  • Develops new welding processes to enhance the Company's product line.
  • Administers weld tests to UAW employees for necessary weld certifications.
  • Supports training and ongoing qualifications of all Welders, critical for manufacturing pressure-related products and compliance with applicable codes such as ASME, piping, and SQLO.
