Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a CAATE program.
  • Current athletic training certification by the BOC.
  • Licensed or eligible for a State License in Athletic Training within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to complete BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical athletic training services in local orthopedic clinics.
  • Room patients and obtain pertinent medical history.
  • Perform clinical injury evaluation and assessment.
  • Order x-rays and imaging exams as directed by providers.
  • Prepare injections as directed by providers.
  • Support physicians with procedures and wound care.
  • Apply and remove custom splints and fiberglass casts.
  • Fit and instruct patients on the use of durable medical equipment.
  • Conduct concussion testing and maintain training on concussion management.
  • Provide therapeutic home exercise program instruction.
  • Handle administrative duties including patient calls and paperwork.
  • Document clinic notes in EPIC (EMR) with minimal mistakes.
  • Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patient records.
  • Assist in patient education for chronic and acute diseases.
  • Participate in patient data collection for research studies.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms with required supplies.
  • Adhere to departmental dress code.
  • Participate in professional growth and development.
