About The Position

The Trainee Sales Manager will assist the Sales Manager in developing a well-trained sales staff that meets or exceeds all sales quotas, increases market share and customer base within established budgetary levels while maintaining the highest ethical standards and observing Company policies and procedures. The role involves staff management and leadership, meeting and exceeding established location sales quotas, and providing initial and ongoing sales instruction to ensure that all Sales Counselors meet or exceed the needs of the customers. Additionally, the Trainee Sales Manager will help manage Sales Counselors, acting as their primary reference regarding various sales processes and customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Sales experience not required, but preferred.
  • Experience presenting, training, coaching, and motivating salespeople is a plus.
  • Valid state/province driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Insurance license as required by state/province law.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales Counselor and sales supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Sales Manager in developing a well-trained sales staff.
  • Meet and exceed established location sales quotas.
  • Assist Sales Counselors with utilizing methods as set forth in training manuals.
  • Provide initial and ongoing sales instruction to Sales Counselors.
  • Help manage Sales Counselors regarding aftercare process, prospecting, product knowledge, and sales presentations.
  • Develop marketing programs that complement the community demographics.
  • Analyze competitor pricing.
  • Plan and participate in community events to develop prospects.
  • Review all pre-need and at-need cemetery contracts for compliance.
  • Approve discounts offered to customers.
  • Prepare reports demonstrating compliance with financial controls.
  • Maintain marketing materials, training manuals, and sales supplies.
  • Ensure sales programs and presentations conform to Company policies.
  • Maintain sales rooms and offices in a professional atmosphere.
  • Ensure compliance of sales practices with regulations.
