About The Position

Sony Studios Fire Department supports Studio business operations, motion picture/television production clients and customers and the Studio's emergency response protocols by providing comprehensive fire and life safety response, support, consultation and oversight. This includes insuring compliance with State and local fire and life safety code, NFPA guidelines related to fire prevention and Motion Picture/Television best practices. Additionally, Sony Fire Department serve as 1st responders to fire, medical and other life safety emergencies on the Studio property and adjacent corporate locations.

- Knowledge of basic fire code and regulations
Nice To Haves
- AA and/or Bachelor degree (preferred) in Fire Science or similar field (note- most Collegiate level Fire Programs are AA level programs).
- Accredited Fire Fighter I certification preferred
- EMT I accreditation preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support Fire Department operations via conducting prescribed code compliance and internally required inspections of Studio property and infrastructure related to fire prevention and life safety.
- Support Studio-wide emergency preparedness planning and operations.
- Support Studio Operations, including Facilities and Physical Production via code required Fire Officer Standby assignments
- Working directly under the Supervising Fire Marshall and/or the Sr. Manager of Fire and Life Safety, support emergency response operations including active fire alarm response, medical emergencies and other life safety incidents.
- Support the administration of Studio Fire Department operations, including the ongoing development of electronic tools and manuals related to Fire Prevention operations.
