The Train Operator at Ray-Mont Logistics is responsible for remotely controlling and operating trains for tasks such as switching, shunting, and moving trains along designated tracks. This role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and safety within the logistics supply chain.

  • Operating a remote-control hopper car mover
  • Positioning cars in place to unload
  • Opening/closing hopper doors with air power; sometimes requiring physical strength
  • Communicating with supervisor to know the lineup of cars to be unloaded
  • Creating track list on the computer
  • Transposing car numbers accurately
  • Conducting quality assurance inspections on railcars and reporting any damages or anomalies observed in railcars received.
  • Heavy machinery operating experience
  • Attention to safety protocols
  • Ability to work physically and on your feet throughout the shift
