About The Position

As a Train Attendant at Amtrak, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, and pleasant journey for our coach and sleeping car passengers. This position can involve working in either coach or sleeping cars. Coach Car Attendants will maintain cleanliness in assigned coaches, including restrooms, while Sleeping Car Attendants will provide first-class amenities, make beds, change linens, and keep restroom and shower areas clean. You will assist elderly and disabled passengers during boarding and detraining, as well as manage baggage and supplies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Food and beverage handling experience.
• Cash handling and customer contact experience.
• Experience in housekeeping.
• Must be at least 21 years of age upon completion of classroom training.
• Successfully complete drug screening and pre-employment medical exam.
• Ability to lift heavy items.
• Ability to work while standing for long periods.
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours and days off, including up to eight days away from home.
• Demonstrate a friendly, outgoing, and courteous disposition.
• Comply with company grooming policies and wear company-provided uniform.
