About The Position

To support this mission, Syngenta's Germplasm Development Team is seeking a Trialing Excellence Lead in Malta, IL, or Slater, IA. The Trialing Innovation Lead will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across trialing operations by developing, implementing, and maintaining best practices, standardized processes, and drive innovative solutions to enhance trial execution efficiency, quality and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in agricultural operations or trial management or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence methodologies, specifically in the agricultural research field.
  • Strong project management capabilities with extensive experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Conceptual knowledge in statistical analysis, experimental design, and data management software (Power BI, Spotfire, JMP). Understand using data for decisions that support operational excellence and efficiencies.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (approx. 25%) and internationally (0-5%) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational productivity/excellence projects and collaborate with finance business partners to capture productivity gains in budget cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to optimize and standardize operating workflows. Be the key contact to lead initiatives while maintaining current standards.
  • Monitor KPIs and analyze operational performance to identify key opportunities to capture data and identify/escalate bottlenecks in delivery of data.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to optimize the digital transformation of data collection. Drive and report productivity gains with technology investments.
  • Design training programs that support building internal capabilities across the trialing groups to help support personal development within the Market Segment teams.
