About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. is hiring a skilled Trailer Technician / Fleet Technician to support truck and trailer fleet maintenance in Gordonsville, VA. This role is ideal for technicians with experience in trailers, diesel, DOT inspections, brakes, and refrigeration units who want a 3-day work schedule and strong compensation. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in trailer, diesel, or refrigeration maintenance (DOT annual inspections & air brakes required)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must own a toolbox and required tools
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check
- Strong work ethic and team-first attitude
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, reefers, and APUs
- Complete brake jobs, suspension repairs, and DOT/FHWA inspections
- Diagnose electrical systems and ABS brakes
- Perform tire services (mount, dismount, balance, flat repairs)
- Complete trailer structural repairs, rear doors, and washouts
- Troubleshoot APUs and assist with road service calls
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and shop equipment safely
- Perform additional fleet maintenance duties as assigned
