About The Position

To diagnose and perform trailer repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance of company equipment in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner while meeting company and DOT requirements. Daily work involves performing preventative and required maintenance on a variety of trailers/equipment as needed in the shop, maintaining and updating appropriate records, and communicating issues and concerns with appropriate team members as needed.

Requirements

• Good organizational abilities
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Manual dexterity, experience with hand tools, and physical strength.
• Operate semi within facility to move trailers
• Work with computers to diagnose, complete and document repairs
• Must be able to work on multiple assets and other techs to manage workflow
• High school graduate or equivalent
• 2 years of related work experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate repair orders, repair history and shop records
• Perform scheduled repairs and customization work as assigned
• Perform routine maintenance per Standard Operating Procedures
• Test and troubleshoot braking, electrical, lighting systems
• Monitor and Perform hub, axle and brake component replacement/repair, tire replacement/repair, suspension repair and air component troubleshooting and repair, and trailer body repair.
• Perform minor welding or fabrication on equipment as necessary
• Follow safety policies.
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• Maintain a clean work and shop area
