About The Position

U-Haul Trailer Mechanic Location: 22 Atlas Ct, Madison, Wisconsin 53714 United States of America We are seeking someone to inspect and replace trailer drum brakes, leaf springs, and perform other common/basic trailer repairs. You will also follow and answer DOT questions on U-Haul's electronic inspection form via tablet. We will train the right individual. Pay is based on experience. Between $18-25 per hour starting, and then review after 90 days and adjust as needed. Hours can be very flexible—Monday through Friday, between 5:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We will work with you to find a schedule that works for you. We supply you with a tablet, tools, and a toolbox. Requirements

Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of repair experience preferred
Driver’s license
The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
Basic computer skills
Regular attendance

Responsibilities

Secure trailers on lifts and dollies.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components.
Dismount, balance and mount tires.
Occasionally road-test vehicles
Work on a production line.
Use proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklist.
Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
