About The Position
As a Trailer Technician II at J.B. Hunt, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of trailers and other equipment. This position requires you to perform intermediate maintenance and service tasks under routine supervision, ensuring that all equipment meets the high standards set by J.B. Hunt. You will be responsible for troubleshooting various issues and completing all necessary fleet maintenance to keep our operations running smoothly. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our trailers are safe and reliable for our drivers and customers. In this role, you will demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment. This includes working on fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems, and conducting FHWA inspections. You will be expected to troubleshoot trailer issues and perform repairs according to company and manufacturer's specifications. Completing work orders accurately and understanding the company's requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines will be key aspects of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist in onboarding and mentoring new trailer technician trainees, sharing your knowledge and skills to help them grow in their roles. Participation in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training for OE repairs will also be part of your duties. Maintaining professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers is essential, as is adhering to all shop safety procedures. Please note that shifts may vary based on location and business needs, and you may be required to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if necessary.
