Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections (trailers) on equipment as required. Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards. Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed. Order and receive parts and supplies as needed. Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste. Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Using welding equipment. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Trailer Mechanic/Welder Required Skills/Abilities: Able to learn and demonstrate vehicle and equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Able to learn and demonstrate tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures. R-Stamp Certified (Able to weld 2G, 3G, 4G and other welding needs on equipment) Preferred Qualifications Required (High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school preferred) Experience diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers. Requirements
