About The Position

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is a growing powerhouse in the Trucking Industry. RSS has been in business for over 31 years, and has nearly 400 team members located in 16 states! We are currently looking to expand our team in the Taylor, MI area. We are seeking a Trailer Mechanic Trainee to help perform repairs and maintenance on semi-trailers . A successful Trailer Mechanic Trainee candidate is someone who's mechanically inclined, who's a hard worker, enjoys working outside, enjoys working with their hands, and is looking to learn a trade in a dynamic field. Professional experience is not a requirement but previous wrenching experience is strongly preferred. What we offer: Get paid while you learn a trade! Hands-on learning! Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to pass a Drug Screen.
Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular and frequent basis.

Responsibilities

Work side-by-side with a Trailer Mechanic.
Help perform repairs and maintenance on semi-trailers - keeping trailers in compliance with DOT safety standards.
Essential tasks will include changing brakes, tires/wheel service, electrical work and fabrication.
