Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician experienced in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing 53 ft dry van cargo trailers pulled by tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trailer systems, be detail-oriented, and capable of performing diagnostic work, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet. Burton Logistics Solutions is a privately owned company founded in the 1980's. Our company is a full logistics provider with capabilities of warehousing/distribution, storage, freight brokerage, and freight transportation (local, dedicated, regional, and OTR lanes). We are an asset-based carrier with a current daily dispatch of 60+ drivers. Our main terminal is located at 2956 Tucker Street Ext. Burlington, NC 27215. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
  • Proven experience repairing and maintaining tractor-trailer cargo trailers (53 ft dry vans preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of trailer brake systems, suspension, tires, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and work in varying conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections on 53 ft dry van trailers, identifying mechanical and structural issues.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, doors, landing gear, and tires.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report any issues to management.
  • Ensure work area and tools are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
