Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician experienced in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing 53 ft dry van cargo trailers pulled by tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trailer systems, be detail-oriented, and capable of performing diagnostic work, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet. Burton Logistics Solutions is a privately owned company founded in the 1980's. Our company is a full logistics provider with capabilities of warehousing/distribution, storage, freight brokerage, and freight transportation (local, dedicated, regional, and OTR lanes). Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
Proven experience repairing and maintaining tractor-trailer cargo trailers (53 ft dry vans preferred).
Strong knowledge of trailer brake systems, suspension, tires, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and work in varying conditions.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough inspections on 53 ft dry van trailers, identifying mechanical and structural issues.
Conduct repairs and maintenance on trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, doors, landing gear, and tires.
Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
Maintain accurate service records and report any issues to management.
Ensure work area and tools are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
