JEO’s Traffic & Technology department is seeking a Traffic & Technology Team Leader, where you will play a key role in shaping and growing our traffic engineering group. This role offers the opportunity to join a traffic engineering team in Omaha and contribute to project delivery, client engagement, and business development efforts throughout the region. You will be supported by a strong team of multidisciplinary professionals, enabling you to lead successful projects that exceed client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years’ experience working in the engineering industry on transportation projects including traffic operations, traffic safety, transportation planning and transportation design elements

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery that meets scope, schedule, and budget expectations
  • Oversee and mentor a project team, providing guidance, technical oversight, and performance management
  • Manage multiple clients and concurrent projects, maintaining proactive communication and responsiveness
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support client management efforts, identify project opportunities, and collaborate in business development activities
  • Prepare project proposals, scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation and traffic initiatives
  • Lead technical traffic analyses for highways, arterial streets, and multimodal facilities using relevant software and analysis methodologies
  • Prepare high-quality reports, deliverables, and presentations demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Develop Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) alternatives, staging, and plans to safely manage traffic during construction
  • Prepare design and construction documents for permanent signing, pavement markings, traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and communication infrastructure in accordance with MUTCD and applicable agency standards
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, bids, contracts, and funding documentation
