About The Position

Performs routine tasks involved in the installation and maintenance of traffic control indicators including traffic signs, pavement markings and traffic signals. Receives direct supervision from the Director of Traffic Operations and on-the-job supervision from the lead technician or supervisor to whom assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a valid Driver’s License
Meet City Insurance (WARM) requirements for operating motor vehicles and equipment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist in the installing and maintaining traffic signs.
Setup temporary traffic control at work sites for safety of employees and the public.
Be able to operate all sign installation equipment safely and efficiently.
Provide basic equipment maintenance.
Assist with fabricating traffic signs.
Be capable of installing and maintaining pavement markings including lane lines, edge lines, stop bars, words, crosswalks, etc. (With supervision)
Prepare paint and other equipment for field operations.
Set up temporary traffic control for pavement marking projects.
Operate the small paint machine, sprayer, and paint removal equipment.
Assist in the operation of the paint striper.
Provide basic maintenance and repairs to all paint equipment.
Maintain records of repair and repair investigations.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
