JOB SUMMARY The Traffic & Scheduling Specialist m ust anticipate the need for rebalancing resources in order to service the market timely and accurately. This role involves understanding the sales forecast, allocating resources and equipment, troubleshooting problems, coordinating simultaneous plans, overseeing scheduling and developing solutions to workflow delays . ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures Develop work schedules in various departments to ensure work is completed on time Works with various departments and individuals to ensure materials and resources flow through the company in a timely manner Must have good planning skills and the ability to oversee planning activities and anticipate problems and develop a plan of action to prevent delays in the company’s workflow Troubleshoot problems to make sure a project or process remains on schedule Must communicate with individuals at different levels in the organization and may be to prepare budget and progress reports for upper management Works with departments to develop a schedule for the delivery of products or resources Monitor the flow of materials or resources through the process to ensure on time delivery Confirm that a work process is progressing on schedule Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Able to work independently as well as within a team Excellent verbal and written skills Proficient on Microsoft Office Products Strong organizational, problem solving and decision -making skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) R ead, analyze and interpret complex documents Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to manage schedule changes quickly and notify all parties involved EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE The employee should have the following: High School Diploma or equivalent 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: Prolong standing or in stationary position Complete repetitive movements such as typing Specific vision abilities include, close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Must be able to work in a production environment Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable Complete repetitive movements Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection) Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds Ability to move or traverse about the facilities Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
