About The Position

A Traffic and Revenue Engineer analyzes traffic data, prepares reports and forecasts of traffic and revenue for the organization’s concessionary companies. The Traffic and Revenue Engineer utilizes the knowledge gathered through the analysis of the data to model the traffic impact from a variety of design changes and develop short-term and long-term traffic as well as revenue forecasts of the Dallas concessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation), Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics or other related majors required (Master’s degrees are preferred)
  • 0-2+ years of experience in business analytics, traffic/transportation analysis, engineering consultancy or equivalent academic experience required
  • Possesses intermediate knowledge of managing stakeholders and assigned concession
  • Effectively manage tasks and strict deadlines with independence
  • Ability to interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure
  • Must be able to multitask, problem-solving, and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment
  • Superior quantitative skills
  • Superior writing and verbal communication skills, particularly technical report writing skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and other PC based programs
  • Possess basic skills of SQL
  • Must have experience with statistical analysis software, data visualization software (Tableau or Power BI preferred), and transportation modeling software (TransCAD, CUBE Voyager, VISSIM or HCS7 preferred.)

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering consultancy experience preferred but not required
  • EIT certification preferred and PE license is a plus
  • Knowledge of advanced programing language (Python) or geographic information system (ArcGIS) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze traffic and socioeconomic data of the concession companies and their area of influence.
  • Prepare monthly reports and summarize findings of the analyses from recent traffic, revenue, and economic studies.
  • Ensure reports required by the concession contract are delivered to TxDOT and Independent Engineer in a timely manner.
  • Prepare memos examining trends, leading indicators and travel patterns within the interest to the company.
  • Present conclusions, findings or solutions to department manager or senior management team.
  • Lead, develop and utilize spreadsheet-based models and micro (or macro) simulation models to analyze the traffic and revenue impact from a variety of design changes and proposed road network improvement.
  • Manage third parity traffic consultancy if applicable.
  • Develop and update annual budget models given historical data and economic conditions for existing Dallas assets and present findings to department manager or senior management team.
  • Calibrate and operate the companies’ Toll Setting Module (TSM) software to establish toll rates in accordance with Business Rules. (Training provided).
  • Lead or contribute to research projects in the traffic and revenue field, participate in project meetings, liaise with the project team members, and oversee the project deliverables.
