About The Position

iHeartMedia, the number one audio company in America, is seeking an experienced Traffic Producer. The role involves monitoring traffic information from various sources and entering that data into the traffic database to assist on-air reporters in delivering accurate traffic reports. The Traffic Producer will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, ensuring timely and useful traffic information is provided to commuters.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and interpret map data, including flows and directions of travel.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with social networking platforms.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, complemented by diplomacy, empathy, and patience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and multitask.
  • Confidence and tenacity to build rapport and pursue information.
  • Knowledge of geography and roadways within the local coverage area is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a television producer and/or public safety dispatch is helpful.
  • College degree or certificate preferred in communications, television, media production, or broadcast journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all traffic cameras, scanners, maps, social media, and other resources for traffic information.
  • Enter traffic information into the traffic database and assist anchors.
  • Collect and input traffic data into the TTWN database for on-air reporters.
  • Provide accurate, useful, and timely traffic information to commuters.
  • Utilize external sources for traffic data, including cameras, police scanners, and DOT websites.
  • Maintain crucial deadlines to provide constantly up-to-date traffic information.
