About The Position

Iteris is seeking two Traffic Operations Technicians who will be focused on performing a variety of technical activities in support of traffic operations and data collection projects. The role involves independently analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming projects, covering the data collection phase through the project reporting phase. The technicians will develop and implement strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, prepare system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports, and mitigation plans. They will coordinate with local agencies related to the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems, closely coordinate with department groups as needed, apply advanced tactics to efficiently move traffic, provide technical support for TSM&O performance monitoring platforms, and interact professionally with clients to ensure high satisfaction. The role may require travel to participate in retiming deployments, with the length of travel depending on specific assignments and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate preferred in engineering technology or related field (consideration will be given for equivalent experience).
  • Two (2) years of experience in a technical field preferred.
  • Intermediate TTC (MOT) certification is a plus.
  • Engineers In Training [EIT] preferred; if already certified, position to be revised to Assistant Engineer role.
  • IMSA Traffic Signals Level I certification is a plus.
  • Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations knowledge is a plus.
  • Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) arterial corridors knowledge is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of ATMS platforms and traffic signal controllers knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft's Excel and Word programs.

Responsibilities
