About The Position

Working as Full-time Traffic Manager, you will manage the Traffic department. This department is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Transportation department. You will provide supervision and leadership to a team of employees. You will be responsible for the overall function of the department including short term and long term goals that pertain to quality, productivity and time management. Requirements

  • Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
  • Possess at least 2 years of industry related management experience or 1 year of Fastenal management experience
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
  • Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
  • Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
  • Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
  • Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification, and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Commercial Driver's License
  • Prior experience in route management and logistics
  • Prior experience and knowledge in CSA compliance and DOT regulations

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership, development and supervision of team members
  • Coordinating employees, including scheduling, hiring and exiting
  • Ensuring short term and long term goals are met
  • Training and developing employees
  • Communicating with employees and branches
  • Monitoring the effective and efficient daily operations of the Traffic department
  • Communicating internally and externally by phone and email
  • Maintaining files, documents, paperwork and data entry
  • Managing budgets and performance metrics
  • Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
  • Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
  • Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings
  • Operate a Fastenal vehicle and run truck routes, Non-CDL and/or CDL, as needed
