The Traffic Manager will be responsible for managing station logs for commercial, programming and promotional content.

Requirements

  • Effectively interact well with management, staff and clients
  • Demonstrate attention to accuracy and detail
  • Knowledge of traffic, digital media, CRM (client relationship manager, e.g. Efficio)
  • Efficient in Microsoft Offices and SharePoint systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and direct a team to include but not limited to:
  • Provide regular constructive feedback in accordance with HR department expectations
  • Resolve issues/conflicts with diplomacy in a timely manner
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support for growth and development
  • Deploy effective coaching skills
  • Ability to effectively administer performance reviews, and corrective action plans as appropriate in a timely fashion
  • The ability to foster an inclusive work environment free of workplace harassment and bullying
  • Complies with Urban One’s mandatory trainings, and adheres to related course deadlines
  • Submit to a criminal background check
  • Legal right to work in the United States
  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare logs using Wide-Orbit System, including creation, scheduling, processing , contract generation, and submission to the Programming
  • Monitor competitive codes, rates, spot rotations, and available inventory and schedule commercials accordingly. Reconcile post-logs for approval and posting to boardfile; research and report discrepancies for follow-up
  • Merge music logs
  • Produce, edit and advise on “time-sold” and pre-emption reports to maximize inventory; post inventory to other systems as required
  • Analyze daily bump commercial reports and distribute relevant information to affected departments for follow-up
  • Review on-air time sales, promotion and programming, and news orders and/or public service announcements to verify accuracy and completeness
  • Review sponsor requests for specific dates, and times of announcements; recommend alternate dates, and times and input information to update the log
  • Liaison with other departments, i.e. Accounting, Sales, Programming, Production, Promotions etc. as required
  • Develop and distribute reports to requesting departments
  • Facilitate distribution of broadcast confirmations to Sales and clients
  • Prepare and circulate network affidavits
  • Build hourly clocks as required
  • Maintain logs and records retention
  • Assist with scheduling of Emergency Alert System (EAS) tests for compliance with FCC regulations
  • Ensure satisfactory audits and SOX 404 compliance for areas of responsibility
  • Back up Traffic Manager and Continuity Director as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
