About The Position

The Traffic Management Supervisor oversees the activities of personnel involved in the movement of War Reserve Material (WRM) cargo via various transportation methods. This role is responsible for training staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining effective shipment planning functions. The supervisor monitors cargo operations using various logistics tools to ensure visibility and compliance within the Defense Transportation System (DTS).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Traffic Management or Associate Degree in a related field required.
  • Experience in import/export, freight acceptance, and cargo shipping/receiving.
  • Experienced in aircraft cargo loading/unloading and tie-down procedures.
  • Must possess a current HAZMAT Certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Must be eligible for a US Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows Operating System.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and customers.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment operations and associated hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises work activities of Traffic Management personnel.
  • Schedules work priorities based on daily operations and taskers.
  • Develops work standards and training plans for personnel.
  • Checks for completeness and accuracy of shipping data.
  • Classifies freight and selects the most efficient mode of shipment.
  • Prepares shipping documents and maintains logs.
  • Processes and documents transportation data using automated systems.
  • Inspects hazardous materials for compliance with regulations.
  • Inspects and inventories incoming freight and containers.
  • Provides asset visibility and real-time tracking for customer queries.
  • Prepares shipping documents for international and domestic shipments.
  • Performs Port Handling and Inland Transportation (PHIT) duties.
  • Processes Export Traffic Release Requests (ETRR) for sealift shipments.
  • Liaises with customs for import/export clearances.
  • Arranges transport equipment for various shipments.
  • Loads/unloads pallets, equipment, and containers.
  • Performs Pallet and Net Manager duties.
  • Completes monthly container inventory and reports findings.
  • Prepares and submits Preload Plans and other documents for air movement.
  • Inspects cargo documentation for airworthiness.
  • Determines cargo configuration and loading requirements.
  • Assists with loading/unloading and servicing aircraft.
  • Implements quality, environmental, and safety programs.
  • Maintains technical orders and files for operations.
  • Compiles data and submits reports as required.
