About The Position

The Traffic Management Specialist will serve in the Transportation Operations Department of NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, managing and maintaining the Cargo Routing Information File (CRIF) to support Navy and Marine units globally. This role involves analyzing customer needs, ensuring timely delivery of cargo, and providing customer service through various communication channels.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Knowledge of various transportation channels, regulations, and procedures to resolve time-sensitive problems associated with cargo movement.
  • Ability to draft and interpret Naval messages accurately.
  • Experience managing and maintaining an accurate Cargo Routing Information File (CRIF).
  • Proficiency in using computer information systems, transportation systems, and logistics systems such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Navy ERP, and FACTS.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Member, American Society of Transportation and Logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Cargo Routing Information File (CRIF) for Navy and Marine units worldwide.
  • Analyze customer needs and make decisions regarding cargo delivery.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, meetings, and in-person communication.
  • Input transactions into assigned databases/information systems.
