The Traffic Management Center (TMC) Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of traffic data within the TMC. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and improving data processes and systems to support efficient traffic management and incident response. THIS IS 24/7, 365 DAY OPERATION. The position is defined as essential personnel and may require additional hours and flexibility of scheduling in response to increased demands or significant events.

  • Develop and implement data quality standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of traffic data
  • Continuously monitor traffic data for inconsistencies, errors, and anomalies, and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Analyze traffic data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to enhance traffic management operations
  • Verify and classify traffic events such as congestion, accidents, special events, and construction using various monitoring tools
  • Generate and distribute traffic reports and updates, detailing the nature of incidents, severity, and impact on traffic flow
  • Monitor and adjust dynamic toll rates based on traffic conditions and established guidelines
  • Work closely with TMC staff, maintenance technicians, and interagency traffic management personnel to implement data quality measures
  • Participate in review processes and identify areas for improvement in TMC data management and operations
  • Regularly review and provide feedback on Traffic Management Center Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they remain current and effective
  • Create, update, and maintain all TMC training materials to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date staff onboarding and ongoing education
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, traffic management, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, quality assurance, or traffic management
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and make decisions based on available data
  • Technical proficiency and familiarity with traffic management systems, data analysis tools, and quality assurance methodologies
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure
  • Punctual and reliable schedule adherence
  • Ability to take direction and follow detailed procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relations with all internal, external staff, and departments
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to accurately read and understand maps
  • Type at least 30-35 WPM
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer skills proficiency, especially with respect to Microsoft Office and other computer applications
