AECOM is seeking a well-qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to work remotely supporting many different offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest.   • Support a team of professionals to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
  • Prepare plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation.
  • Work on ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
  • Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
  • Actively participate in the team's production of technical deliverables ranging from plans, specifications, estimates, reports, memorandums, etc.
  • Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation.
  • Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards.
  • Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities.
  • BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred minimum 5 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE license in 6 months.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.
