About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Traffic & Intelligent Transportation System Manager to be based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Position would involve project management for traffic related projects with opportunity to lead design on ITS projects Provide supervision of junior staff for project development and coordination of tasks Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments Traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design. Plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects. Actively participate in the team’s production of technical deliverables ranging from plans, specifications, estimates, reports, memorandums, etc. Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience Works under minimal supervision Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred minimum 5 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE license in 6 months
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.
