Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s engineering program with a focus on civil or transportation engineering at an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant coursework in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or roadway design is preferred.
  • Familiarity with traffic engineering software such as Synchro, VISSIM, or HCS is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and CAD software (MicroStation or AutoCAD preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is desirable.
  • Prior internship experience in traffic or transportation engineering is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in traffic engineering studies, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the development of traffic signal designs, signing and marking plans, and traffic control plans.
  • Perform traffic modeling and simulation using industry-standard software.
  • Contribute to safety analyses and operational assessments for roadway and intersection projects.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.
